Greetings from the New Place: 5.07.2008
Hello! We’ve moved, at last!

Love this photo? It can be purchased here.
The new place is fantastic (just got the internet last night) and we’re mostly settled in! We live in a really nice part of town. There is a park at the end of the street (about a block away) with picnic tables, benches overlooking the river, a playground, and so on. There’s a path right along the river. We walk the dog there and he loves it. All the trees lining the streets are in bloom and it smells wonderful. We’re so much happier here! We’ve been trying to find a place in this town for two years and we’ve finally done it! It’s lovely and big (3 bdroom and even a dining room) with high ceilings, lots of ceiling fans, and full of light. We have a porch, a private driveway, and a fenced in backyard with all sorts of lovely stuff growing in it (though it needs to be mowed/maintained). Did I mention there are four closets in this place, 2 of them walk-in? B can now walk to work on nice days and we can also walk to the grocery store and “main” street. To top it all off, the landlord really couldn’t be nicer. We just love it! What a find!!!

I’ll post pictures of the rooms and so on soon, when I have more time and we’re a bit more settled!
… and just a little reminder, this Friday I’ll be posting about the May Give-Away on CKC! Stay tuned…
Lastly a side-note on photos and the quality of art you may be purchasing..
Recently on Etsy, I posted a question to “All Photographers” asking what kind of equipment they use (camera, editing, printing)… just to see how they could sell their prints so cheap (ranging $12-$30).
Turns out a lot of people are using point and shoot digital cameras and HP printers. *vomit*
Mystery solved.
For me, it’s like competing with Wal-Mart.
Yuck.
Just so you know (in the case that you don’t), HP is not a high quality photo printer or capable of producing professional prints. It’s an office machine, great for printing documents, not visual art.
All my Prints are made on Epson Paper, with archival Epson ink, with an Epson printer. I use a digital SLR to shoot and Photoshop for editing.
If I sold photos for some of the prices I’ve seen on Etsy I would make negative profit.

I’m not trying to upset anyone or insult their beloved HP printers/computers (my husband has both) but I am trying to offer something to think about.
